School Organisation

Classes are organised depending on the numbers in each year group. To bring about the maximum benefit for the children classes are organised into mixed age groups over a span of two years. This makes good use of the expertise of the staff.

The present arrangement is: -

Key Stage One Key Stage Two
2 x Reception classes 3 x Mixed Years 3 and 4
2 x Mixed Years 1 and 2 3 x Mixed Years 5 and 6

We also set by ability for Literacy and Numeracy.Classes are organised to contain children of mixed ability and in this situation plans are made for the year bearing in mind the individual age, aptitude and ability of each child.

The Staff work closely together in planning and organising the Curriculum to ensure all children have an equal opportunity and access to learning.
